The Revolutionary War, also known as the American Revolution, was one of the most significant events in American history. There were numerous brutal, gory battles that took place during this event. But before any of this occured, the French and Indian War, or the Seven Years War, took place. This war was one of the primary reasons that the American Revolution even existed. Another reason was because of taxes. The colonists were enraged by the fact that they were being taxed to pay off the French and Indian War. The series of taxes was being controlled by the King/Parliament. The colonists had much hate for the King. Eventually, the colonists wanted to break free of the British Crowne. That's when it all started.
The American Revolution was a war between the Patriots and the Loyalists. The Patriots were the Americans who wanted independence from the British Crowne. The loyalists were the British who supported the King/Parliament. Some of the major battles during the American Revolution was the Battle of Sullivan's Island, Battle of Waxhaws, The Siege of Charles Town, The Battle of Camden, King’s Mountain, Battle of Cowpens, and Battle of Eutaw Springs. Although the Patriots won the Revolutionary War, they couldn't have won without the French. |
